I’ll have many small mounted (affordable!) pieces at this wonderful, annual show and sale put on by Brattleboro West Arts. I’ve made some new work for this event including this here gem, Biome V.

There will also be oodles of yummy gorgeous art created by my brilliant fellow artists.
A wonderful opportunity to peruse lovely artwork, find unique gifts and support local artists.

Looking for a  unique gift? I’m offering three new mounted pieces for sale. All are constructed of silk I dyed, commercial crinkly taffeta and yarns. I have put the same care and attention into creating these small gems as I do for my larger pieces. They will arrive ready-to-hang.

Are you anywhere near southern Vermont or NH?

Cellscape II will be auctioned off at the Apple Blossom Gala Auction, on Friday May 10 which is put on by the amazing  Brattleboro Museum & Art Center. Proceeds will go to the museum’s education programs. I went last year and had a blast so I will definitely be there this year! Lots of wonderful, innovative art for auction, a good cause, great people, delicious food and a raucous wine tasting!

A Tale of a Touching Sale

A few weeks ago a woman contacted me asking if a certain piece of mine was available. It was, so we started exchanging a few emails about the logistics of completing the sale.

Then she shared that this purchase was her way of celebrating some very good news she’d just received about her second bout of breast cancer.

That choked me right up. I shared with her about my own breast cancer treatment 6 years ago and how this piece was part of a series I made at that time to help me cope and stay positive. Knowing that this piece is now hanging in her home warms my heart.

Like the bumper sticker says…Don’t postpone joy.
